The film ‘Ishaqzaade’ is mainly a romantic drama. The film stars Parineeti Chopra, the cousin of Priyanka Chopra who has gained popularity for her work in “Ladies vs. Ricky Bahl’ and Arjun Kapoor, the son of filmmaker Boney Kapoor. The rest of the cast of this film is equally interesting. The music has been given by well known music director Amit Trivedi while the lyrics have been given by   Kausar Munir. The choreography has been done by the duo who had won the National Award for their outstanding work in the Hrittik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan starrer ‘Jodha Akbar’, i.e. Rekha and Chinni Prakash. Though the film is mainly a romantic drama, action plays an important part in it too. So, Sham Kaushal was chosen in order to handle the action part of this film.


Apart from the lead actors, the negative character is also played by a new face in ‘Ishaqzaade’. The name of the actor in this role is Aftab Ahmad. Along with them, we cannot leave out the name of Katrina Kaif who will once again be seen in an item number in the film, after her highly successful number in ‘Agneepath’.

The story of the film is based in the rural areas of Uttar Pradesh. It shows the journey of two lovers, played by Arjun and Parineeti, in this rural backdrop. It shows how their love grows among the intense political confines of the rural parts of India. These two young people were born so that they could despise one another. But as fate would have it, they fall in love.


The film deals with how their love blossoms in spite of the problems and unbelievable political confines. The tag line of the film itself says ‘Ishaqzaade hain jitney fasano mein, milte hain kahan ab jahanon mein’.A major part of the shooting of the film has been done in Hardoi, Uttar Pradesh, in order to capture the essence and feel of the village areas. The shooting had begun on 15th October, 2011. The apart that has been shot in Hardoi, was done mainly in the month of November. The film is all set to release in the month of May in 2012.


This is a big film for Yash Raj too and there is no doubt that they will pull out all stops to make it big. The actors too are working very hard for this film. Arjun Kapoor has stated that he did not need classes for acting as it runs in his blood, coming from a family that has already been involved with Bollywood. But there is also a lot of action in the film. So Arjun had to work very hard in order to maintain the desired level of fitness. Moreover, the film’s actress has already raised expectations with her performance in her last film. So can she set the bar even higher with ‘Ishaqzaade’? We will be able to know for sure when the film releases in May.

Shoojit Sircar, the director of the movie has come up with some new idea that is to some extent is taboo to the society. But he has won the battle.

Name of Akshay Kumar in the movie is Shiva. He is a small thag and is in love with Priya (Sonakshi Sinha in movie). Shiva met Priya in a wedding, where he wasn’t supposed to be. Then a twist comes into the story, a small girl named Neha enters and she believes that Shiva is her father. That time Shiva was in danger as he was being attacked by many other gangs opposite to him.

It is a love story of Miny and Viren. Miny is a free and very cool girl, for her enjoyments are the meaning of life. Her father, Bhatti runs an auto-rickshaw business he wants Miny to marry with Sunny. Viren is a rickshaw driver, who works for Mini’s Father. Mini doesn’t want to mary Sunny so she creates a plan to escape with Viren. Her father comes to find her and take her back to marry with Sunny.

Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya : Music Review : Atif and Shreya kick start the album with lovely Piya O Re Piya, this is something that Atif does the best. Track repeats as a sad version too   Next one is again a kind of track that Mohit Chauhan excels in. Jeene De  with Qawwali arrangements, sounds pretty good. And the, a punjabi track comes in the picture- Pee Paa Ho Gaya (!). [not my favorite genre, repeating again] is as foot tapping as a punjabi track should be. 

Atif comes back with Monali Thakur & Priya Panchal, in Tu Mohabbat Hai, yet another mushy track, not as impressive as Piya, yet charms. And after all this, what's left? Yes, an item number. Sunidhi and Kailash Kher's Fann Ban Gayi is nothing special to go ga-ga about, except the fact that it must be good fun sequence in the movie. 

Composer duo Sachin-Jigar who gave some commendable tracks in 2011, starts off 2012 in a pretty mixed mode. Lets see whats ahead in store.

They say if you are good friends then your friendship can turn into love and marriage. But hold on a second. What if marriage happens by mistake? This time it will be the other way round. When two people meet and gets married by mistake, the mistake that is going to become their favorite memory. – This is what the upcoming film Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu starring Imran Khan and Kareena Kapoor is all about.

Earlier titled Short Term Shadi, Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu is a romantic comedy. Rahul Kapoor (Imran Khan) an obsessive architect, who wants everything perfect in his life and can’t tolerate any thing out of his place, suddenly loses his job in Vegas and is afraid to tell his parents about this, thus he tries to keep quite and find another job. But with a fatal twist he bumps ups to meet an uber cool, quick-witted hairstylist Riana Braganza (Kareena Kapoor), who lives her life to the fullest and is complete the opposite of what he is. A series of events between the two leads them to meet on the Eve of the Christmas for more than just a few drinks. But it is never ‘few’, following that night of debauchery they woke up to discover the fact that both of them got married. They both wanted to get it annulled as soon as they can and so seeks for an appointment from the court. They get ten days prior to their appointment, where they share moments of arguments, laughs, fights etc which ends up to an unlikely friendship. What will be next? Will this friendship take a turn towards love? To get all the answers, we have to wait until the film releases.

Set in the amazing location of Las Vegas it is a love story mainly based on the saying of the city – what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas, it is the only city in US where one can marry and annul the marriage in the same day. The plot of the film has been cleverly merged with the city and its saying. The film is directed by new director Shakun Batra who had earlier assisted films like Rock On and Jane Tu Ya Jane Na.

Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu’s music has been done by National Award winner Amit Trivedi of Dev D, Wake Up Sid, Udaan, Aisha fame. The official music launch of this film has yet not been planned.

Kareena Kapoor has rated her role in Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu as her bet roles till date. We must admit that she is looking ultra chic, mod and cool, hoping to get a wonderful performance worth remembering from Kareena.

Agneepath Set To Release On The 26th Of January 2012

“Vijay Deenanath Chauhan”, the name is quite familiar with every Indian household who witnessed the rise of the ‘angry young man’ era of the Hindi film Industry in the early 90’s. In the year 1990, director Mukul S. Anand made ‘Agneepath’ with Amitabh Bachhan in the lead, under the banner of Dharma Production. Earlier this year Karan Johar came up with the idea to remake this film under his Dharma production, so as to a tribute to his father, who was the producer of original film. Directed by Karan Johar’s former assistant Karan Malhotra, this film is set to release on 13th of January 2012.

Agneepath deals with the story of father and son relationship and revenge. In thevillageofMandwa, a young boy Vijay has been taught the path of fire – Agneepath, by his principled father, but after his father has been brutally killed by the evil drug dealer Kancha Cheena , his life then shatters and he takes up a pledge of revenge from his father’s killers. Vijay takes up crime himself to become successful and finally meets with those people who killed his father. Agneepath is mainly the powerful journey of Vijay, who is on a mission.

Originally played by Amitabh Bachhan, Vijay Deenanath Chauhan will now be played by Hritik Roshan in this new version. Vijay’s enemy Kancha Cheena which was originally played by Danny Denzongpa will now be played by Sanjay Dutt. Veteran actor Rishi Kapoor will be seen also in another negative character. Priyanka Chopra will be playing the role of Vijay’s love interest in the film. The powerful character of Krishnan Iyer MA played by the veteran Mithun Chakraborty in the original film has been totally done away in this new version of the film. This new version can not be called a remake but an adaptation of the original Agneepath.

Hrithik Roshan’s portrayal of Vijay Dennanath Chauhan, originally made famous by Amithabh Bachhan and Sanjay Dutt’s look as antagonist Kancha Cheena has already created a big amount of curiosity and hype among the Agneepath lovers. Sanajy Dutt has gone completely bald for his role as Kancha Cheena. Sanjay will be seen in this bald avatar with a big silver ring at the top of his left ear and a black outfit. With puffed up eyes and that wicked smile on his face he is looking quite beefed up. Hrithik also had undergone some fitness training sessions to get that body.

Agneepath’s music has been done by Ajay Atul who has done the music of Singham. The music has yet not been officially launched. But the item number ‘Chikni Chameli’ by Katrina Kaif has already made everyone’s (especially the boys) heart skip a beat at its look.

Agneepath is a much awaited film of 2012. The trade analysts predict that this movie will be able to break every box office record of 2012.

Agneepath [2012] Music Review

Agneepath has been in news since KJo had decided to officially remake the Amitabh Bachchan and Danny Denzongpa starrer. This remake has got great hype because various reasons. One being of course it's a remake, second the fact that  Sanjay Dutt is the deadly Kancha and Hrithik is the new Vijay, third, since the theatrical trailer was released before Diwali, there are quite a few comparisons and the final reasons are Chikni Chameli and Katrina Kaif.


Hype is directly proportional to expectations, whatever marketing is done to sell the movie and music, may fall flat if the final product is not of good quality.


Despite being an action-thriller-revenge movie, there are good expectations from the music of Agneepath. Ajay-Atul have delivered pretty decent music for the action flick Singham this year. What does Agneepath have in store ? Lets find out.


Chikni Chameli is an official recreation of Kombadi Palali. Agneepath is an official remake too. So there is song remade in a movie that is remade. Clearly, no scope for novelty. So, while the makers are busy getting all the tried and tested formulas under one roof the output is still looks good. Ajay-Atul's superhit marathi song Kombadi Palali from Jatra was a fun dance number and it's recreated into a sexy item number which features Katrina's gorgeous moves. Amitabh Bhattacharya's lyrics however somewhat bring the downfall, it does not make it suitable for a wide audience. The music is not at all tampered or played with, this makes Kombadi Palali more enjoyable than Chikni Chameli when audio is concerned despite Shreya Ghoshal's singing efforts. Visually, Chikni Chameli spells magic due to a certain Kat involved. Musically don't expect a Sheila, Munni or Chammak Chhalo here because they were original (Munni was involved in controversies that it's inspired/copied but the musical composition was original). However, this song certainly will achieve the superhit status but it won't break the record of the trendsetters.


Suddenly, after the tried & tested remakes O Saiyaan brings the much required freshness as Roop Kumar Rathod returns with a bang. A slow but soulful track, that connects. Amitabh Bhattacharya has written some fine lyrics this time.


Gun Gun Guna  is yet another fun song which makes itself notable not only because it brings back the long lost Udit Narayan but also because it is a feel good number. Sunidhi Chauhan has yet again sung brilliantly. Ajay-Atul have been impressive in their new compositions till now. Even if this song is not a long runner still enjoy it while it lasts.


With a typical Pathani tune starts Shah Ka Rutba, remember Qurbaan and Yaari Hai Imaan. Well, the song seems to be more of a situational track which is decent enough to listen. Too many singers, still Sukhwinder stands out. But many may skip to the next number. Still the composition is pretty good as the composers make sure that the album is not predictable and each number is different from the other.


Sonu Nigam returns with a song worthy of his voice. Ab Mujh Mein Kahin is a beautiful composition, the best by Ajay-Atul so far in terms of arrangements and patterns. If Chikni Chameli was the one for the masses, this one is for the classes.


Ganpati Bappa returns with Deva Shree Ganesha. Another song which will be heard a lot during Ganesh Chathurthi in 2012. Ajay-Atul of course had their barriers while composing the song, still like all the Ganpati songs, this song too will get the blessings of Ganeshji. Ajay sings well and the lyrics fit to the tee. Another good song in a satisfying album.


So, here you have a superhit but old wine in new bottle number Chikni Chameli, the feel good Gun Gun Guna and soulful numbers like Ab Mujh Mein Kahin and O Saiyyan which makes the album something more than what one expects from a Revenge movie. With the burden of expectations Agneepath carries, the music plays its part well and maintains the level of expectations.


You can easily put this soundtrack in the league of Ra. One and Dabangg where one song is the star while other numbers compliment it beautifully. Ajay Atul will cement their place in Bollywood with Agneepath. Hopefully, they compose an original anthem soon like they did for Jatra-The Marathi film.

Agneepath is undoubtedly the best work of Ajay-Atul, give these guys an applause.

The Garam Masala duo is back again and this time they are making lot of noise as they are the Desi Boyz. This movie also is the debut movie for Rohit Dhawan as director, son of director David Dhawan. The movie talks about two friends Nick Mathur and Jerry Patel who have a well to do life but things go wrong when both the friends are forced to do things that they would have never thought about. The movie has gone through lot of controversies when one of the writer Shyam Devkatte claimed that the initial story was written by him and the concept was stolen. On the other hand, Rohit Dhawan went through lot of casting issues. Initially, it was Sonam Kapoor that got the role but she declined the offer as she found that the script was not what she wanted to do. It is also said that the role then went to Anushka Sharma but it got declined as well and then Deepika and Chitrangda were casted.

Desi Boyz, the title itself tells us that the music of the movie is going to be the highlight and therefore the producers have decided to rope in Pritam for the music of the movie. John and Akshay did created sensation all over India when they danced together on the tunes of Garam Masala and director Rohit Dhawan is making sure that they do the same once again for him. Hence, the music is basically very loud and entertaining to keep the drums going on and dance moves grooving on. Let’s take some close look at the music that has been provided by Pritam for Desi Boyz.

Desi Boyz music album has a really bang on opening with – Make Some Noise for the Desi Boyz. This track is made to show the bonding between the two lead male actors and plus the music is very energetic. Most of the lyrics in the song is blended with Hindi, English and Punjabi words and therefore it makes a great combination for the album. K.K sings this song with Bob and they have taken the song to the next level making it an instant hit and chartbuster. The song is very high pitched and therefore there is no time to rest if you are dancing on this track.

The second track in the album Subha Hone Na De is just another club number that will make a lot of noise on the streets and in the club. This song is sung by Mika Singh and therefore you can guarantee that it will have all the fun and entertainment quotient in it. A part of this song is sung by Shefali Alvaris and she takes over very smoothly to keep the tempo of the song going on without any interruption. This song is surely going to rise the music charts in few days or weeks.

Jhak Maar Ke in the film belongs to John Abraham but it is one of the biggest hits in the album. The song is basically a Bollywood item number song that will take over from the moment it begins and therefore you can be sure that this number is on your music player. Sung by Neeraj Shreedhar and Harshdeep Kaur they have added a lot of fun and groove to the song to keep the temperature rising in the club.

Sonu Nigam and Shilpa Rao handles the fourth song in the album which is called Allah Maaf Kare. It is a very Indian song but it has a musical factor to it which sounds like Razia Gundo Mein Phas Gayi, but Allah Maaf Kare is a better version mainly because Sonu Nigam handles the song very nicely.

Let It Be fails to make an impression probably because the tempo is slow and it comes in to the movie when things are not going right for the characters. However, Shaan does some justice to the song by bringing in the guilt factor to the voice and making it feel like a definitely sad song that would bring some variety to the album.

Tu Mera Hero is the last track in the album but it is very similar to Subha Hone Na De. The rest of the songs like Allah Maaf Kare, Jhak Maar Ke, Subah Hone Na De and Make Some Noise for the Desi Boyz are available in remixed version as well.

Hence, overall the music for Desi Boyz is not really bad and most of the songs in the album are fast and loud music numbers. If you love typical Bollywood songs then Desi Boyz will definitely keep you on the toes because song combinations just keep going better and better as you keep listening more songs. Pritam did not do well in few movies that he did recently like Always Kabhi Kabhi and Tell Me O Kkhuda, but in Desi Boyz he has come up with hard musical tracks that will keep music lovers asking for more.
