They say if you are good friends then your friendship can turn into love and marriage. But hold on a second. What if marriage happens by mistake? This time it will be the other way round. When two people meet and gets married by mistake, the mistake that is going to become their favorite memory. – This is what the upcoming film Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu starring Imran Khan and Kareena Kapoor is all about.
Earlier titled Short Term Shadi, Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu is a romantic comedy. Rahul Kapoor (Imran Khan) an obsessive architect, who wants everything perfect in his life and can’t tolerate any thing out of his place, suddenly loses his job in Vegas and is afraid to tell his parents about this, thus he tries to keep quite and find another job. But with a fatal twist he bumps ups to meet an uber cool, quick-witted hairstylist Riana Braganza (Kareena Kapoor), who lives her life to the fullest and is complete the opposite of what he is. A series of events between the two leads them to meet on the Eve of the Christmas for more than just a few drinks. But it is never ‘few’, following that night of debauchery they woke up to discover the fact that both of them got married. They both wanted to get it annulled as soon as they can and so seeks for an appointment from the court. They get ten days prior to their appointment, where they share moments of arguments, laughs, fights etc which ends up to an unlikely friendship. What will be next? Will this friendship take a turn towards love? To get all the answers, we have to wait until the film releases.
Set in the amazing location of Las Vegas it is a love story mainly based on the saying of the city – what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas, it is the only city in US where one can marry and annul the marriage in the same day. The plot of the film has been cleverly merged with the city and its saying. The film is directed by new director Shakun Batra who had earlier assisted films like Rock On and Jane Tu Ya Jane Na.
Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu’s music has been done by National Award winner Amit Trivedi of Dev D, Wake Up Sid, Udaan, Aisha fame. The official music launch of this film has yet not been planned.
Kareena Kapoor has rated her role in Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu as her bet roles till date. We must admit that she is looking ultra chic, mod and cool, hoping to get a wonderful performance worth remembering from Kareena.
